How to cancel your Slang subscription and request refunds

Last updated: June 6, 2026

Slang subscriptions are billed for the full initial contract term. Once written cancellation notice has been received, service will continue for 30 days beyond the next billing date for monthly agreements, or through the full term for annual agreements — you cannot cancel mid-term for a refund unless your service agreement states otherwise. If you're unsure when your term ends, contact your account manager or reach out to support.

To cancel your Slang subscription, you need to provide written notice with 30 days advance notice as outlined in your service agreement. Here's how to properly cancel and handle billing issues:

Cancellation Process

Submit your cancellation request in writing by:

  • Sending an email to support@slang.ai

  • Creating a support ticket through the Support Widget in your Slang Dashboard

  • Including your desired cancellation date (must be at least 30 days from request date)

Your account manager will be looped in to assist with the cancellation process and ensure proper off-boarding of your services.

Important Off-boarding Steps

Before your cancellation date, make sure to:

Complete these steps by the end of business on your churn date to prevent disruption in phone service. Your dedicated Slang phone number and all Slang services will no longer be active after the churn date.

  • If you use Slang Replace: Remove your dedicated Slang number from all public-facing locations (website, Google Business Profile, reservation platforms, etc.) and replace it with your previous or new phone number. You can find each location's Slang number by logging into the respective Slang dashboard.

  • If you use call forwarding: Remove the call forwarding to Slang through your phone provider.

  • If you use OpenTable integration: Disconnect the integration before your churn date:

    1. Log in to your OpenTable Account

    2. Navigate to My Integrations: Phone Automations

    3. Look for the live status indicator for your Integration connect

    4. Click on 'Disconnect Slang' under the Resources section

    5. For additional guidance, visit the OpenTable FAQ

Per the standard agreement, billing begins upon signing your contract, not when you start using the service. However, Slang may consider refund requests in certain circumstances:

  • Business closures: If your business has closed unexpectedly, provide proof of closure date and Slang may expedite your cancellation and consider refund requests

  • Billing errors: If you believe you've been charged incorrectly after cancellation, contact our billing team with documentation of your cancellation request

  • Plan changes: If there were delays in processing plan changes, credits may be applied to cover the difference
